Mushroom Paratha recipe | How to make Mushroom Paratha 

Mushroom Paratha is heavy breakfast for busy morning. Mushroom is a healthy vegetable and often cooked as a side dish with chapati or rice. Mushroom paratha is a mushrrom stuffed paratha which is a flat bread and can be served for mornings, luch or dinner. Mushroom is stir fried along with onion to make mushroom stuffing. Because mushroom does not take much time to cook, preparing mushroom stuffing for paratha takes 5 - 7 minutes.

Ingredients for Mushroom Paratha

  • Mushroom : 200 grams
  • Onion : 1 (finely chopped)
  • Green Chilli : 1 (finley chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil : 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala : 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee / Oil : to fry paratha
  • Wheat Flour Dough
  • How to make Mushroom Paratha

  • Wash and chop onion, green chilli and mushroom. Keep separately.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Fry onion till it becomes translucent.
  • Add chopped green chilli and chopped mushroom in it.
  • Add salt.
  • Add garam masala and red chilli powder.
  • Cook till all the ingredients come togtether, mushroom becomes soft.
  • Divide the wheat flour dough into small portions.
  • Roll one portion at a time.
  • Fill in the mushroom stuffing. 
  • Seal stuffing and roll again to medium size.
  • Heat a skillet / tawa,
  • Keep the rolled mushroom paratha on it.
  • Flip side when bottom side of mushroom paratha starts changing color.
  • Apply ghee / oil in both sides and cook evenly.
  • Cook till brown spots appear on both sides.
  • Mushroom Paratha is ready.
  • Serve it hot.

    Wash and chop onion thin. Heat oil in a pan. Leave chopped onion in it and fry till it becomes translucent. We can also fry it till it becomes golden brown in color but then onion becomes very soft and does not remain crunchy.

    Now add chopped mushroom and green chilli in it. Stir fry around 30 seconds. 

    Now add salt, garam masala powder and red chilli powder. Please adjust the quantity of red chilli powder as per the taste. You can also chose not to add red chilli powder in it as we have already added green chilli but if you want it spicy and chilli, go for it.

    Mix well and cook further for one minute on ow flames. Now mushroom stuffing for mushroom paratha is ready. Turn the flames off and keep it aside till it comes at room temperature.

    Now divide the wheat flour dough into small portions. Roll one portion to 4 - 5 inches.

    Place mushroom stuffing on it and pull outer edges towards the center to enclose the mushroom stuffing inside. 

    Now dust the mushroom stuffed dough for rolling further to make mushroom paratha. 

    Roll it to make a paratha of meium size. Heat a skillet / tawa and place the rolled mushroom paratha on it. Cook on medium high flames. 

    Flip the side after few seconds. Cook the bottom side and flip again once.

    Now apply ghee / oil on top and again flip the side to apply ghee/ oil on other side. Cook till mushroom paratha is cooked evenly from both sides and gets brown spots as shown in picture. 

    Repeat the process for rest of the dough portions to make more mushroom parathas.

    Mushroom Paratha is ready. Serve it hot with raita or tea.
