First heat oil in a pan. When oil is medium hot, add broken wheat / Dalia in it. Stir continuously.

Cook Dalia till it starts turning slightly golden brown. It takes about 2 minutes to turn Dalia golden on low flames. We should keep stirring it.

When Dalia is roasted, add chopped vegetables in it. I have added carrot, tomato, mushroom and green peas. We can add vegetables of our choice.

After adding vegetables in it, add water. Add salt now.

Now add green peas in it. I have used frozen green peas to make Dalia upma. We can also use fresh green peas in it as well. Cover the pan and cook further for 8 to 10 minutes on low flames. Keep stirring occasionally to avoid sticking Dalia in the bottom of pan.

When water is soaked completely and Dalia becomes soft, Dalia ka upma is ready.

Garnish  it with chopped fresh coriander leaves. Serve it hot.
